Job Description:

This role is a commercial leadership role, in which you will be expected to lead on, have oversight for and undertake Contract Management activity for a number of key contracts within Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) as well as provide commercial advice and support on a range of other commercial projects. You will work closely with a range of stakeholders to become a commercial advisor of choice building up strong and effective working relationships. You will lead on the commercial contract management, ensuring the best outcomes are achieved for the Council including the delivery of value of money and this will require the use of a range of commercial skills.

The role is varied, and to carry out successful contract management activity you will work to mobilise contracts, manage the delivery and performance of contracts; carry out contract variations, manage risk within the key contracts, and be responsible for major contract transition and exit as well as developing and producing effective reporting and intelligence sharing. This will involve working closely with other commercial colleagues to ensure a seamless and joined up and consistent service and will include influencing the business case and procurement phases within the commercial lifecycle.

This role will require both programmatic and innovative thinking as you will be required to work with stakeholders to manage and mitigate risks around contracts and to ensure compliance with legal and statutory requirements. You will drive performance management, risk management, issues resolution, financial management, change control and overall contract and statutory compliance whilst being responsible for continuous improvement (service and value) and continuously look for synergies and efficiency savings across service contracts.

The role will be required to develop and manage effective working relationships across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

This role will be also expected to provide overall commercial leadership across the team and organisation and will require the contribution to the development and implementation of contract management and commercial best practice. This will include the development and sharing of good practice, tools, templates, policies, technology etc
