Warehouse and Logistics Operative

- Main Purpose of Job
- Provide Warehouse Supervisor with support in relation to administrative duties, ensuring efficient operation of the Warehouse.
- Acting as a first point of contact for escalations within the Warehouse.
- The physical and administrative control of materials brought in and issued from the Company's stores locations.
- Supervising all staff within the Warehouse environment in Supervisor's absence.
- Packing of goods for airfreight and domestic despatch to ensure they arrive in optimum condition.
- Key Tasks
- To maintain an efficient Goods Inwards/Outwards procedure, be aware and understand correct documentation for processing goods inwards, packing lists, despatch notes, pro-forma invoices, advice notes etc and keeping filing up to date.
- To maintain accuracy of serial number tracked items and update the warranty database (Excel) and other databases as required
- To work closely with the returns administrator to ensure that all non- conforming and faulty goods received are handled effectively and in line with company performance measures.
- To participate in product awareness and administrative process training as may be required to maintain an effective level of support.
- To be responsible for Hazardous Goods (Lithium batteries) packing, to be aware of the controls required for the transport of Hazardous Goods and to comply with procedures in place regarding this.
- To be aware of the Known Consignor Status of the company and maintain standards and procedures in this regard.
- To demonstrate good working practices and conformance to Health and Safety Policy.
- Ensure cyclical stock checks are completed to maintain accurate stock levels within GP.
- Assist the Warehouse Supervisor to organise and carry out the yearly stock check.
- Provide support to help control GFE Stock to ensure accurate records and correct documentation is held ready for any audits
- Oversee Stores consumables ordering process (Packaging/Stationary/PPE/Tools etc).
- Perform stock related tasks with a high level of accuracy.
- Provide a secondary point of contact for Newcastle site Stores person, and assist remote sites with inventory/process queries.
- Drive compliance with Health and Safety processes within the Stores environment.
- To assist with packing goods for despatch, including airfreight, and to maintain accuracy at all times.
- To operate counterbalance forklift truck for various duties when required, e.g. unloading of goods, Warehouse replenishment.
- To operate MEWP (Scissor Lift) as and when required.
- To be proactive daily in the maintenance of a rubbish free building.
- To provide Facilities support within the building in terms of assistance minor maintenance tasks, furniture moves etc
- To assist in covering company post duties when required.
- Supervision
- To work proactively with minimal supervision of main duties.
- To assist others where expertise and skills are to be communicated.
- Supervision of staff where required & in absence of the Warehouse Supervisor

- Maintain stock in optimum condition with consideration to environment.
- Awareness of safe working practices within Warehouse environment
- Ability to work quickly & accurately under pressure
- Adhere to processes to maintain integrity of inventory records.
11. Experience/Skills/Qualifications
Good level of secondary education, literate and numerate. Must have the ability to communicate at all levels within the company and with external agents.
Must be able to provide 5-year work history check and be able to obtain Security Clearance.
Must be computer literate and accurate and have the ability to learn, absorb and remember new computerised tasks quickly.
Physically capable to cope with loads which have to be moved/carried. Minimum 5 years Warehouse experience
Certificate of proficiency to operate forklift trucks.
