Are you an experienced Java Developer looking for an exciting opportunity in the fast-paced world of Equity Finance Trading? Our client, a leading organisation in the industry, is seeking a skilled Java Developer to join their dynamic team on a contract position for 11 months.

?? Role Overview:

As a Java Developer, you will play a key role in building product capabilities for the front office, collaborating with traders, business analysts, and fellow technologists to deliver enhanced business value through agile methodologies. Your expertise in Java and strong problem-solving skills will contribute to the success of our client's projects.

?? Key Responsibilities:

Apply good design principles and ensure adherence to complex designs.
Resolve high-impact problems through in-depth evaluation of business and system processes.
Provide advanced expertise in applications programming and maintain alignment with architectural guidelines.
Contribute to the development of coding standards and participate in system flow design.
Gain comprehensive knowledge of the business areas and their integration within the overall architecture.
Act as an advisor or coach, guiding and allocating work to mid-level developers and analysts.
Offer post-release assistance to cross-functional teams.
Assist in providing third-line support during core trading hours.

?? Required Qualifications:

8-10+ years of hands-on development experience using Java, with proficiency in Spring or another dependency injection framework.
5+ years of experience developing and maintaining scalable, low-latency, high-volume microservices.
Strong background in system analysis and software application programming.
Familiarity with real-time messaging middleware such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Solace.
Proficiency in multi-threaded applications.
Excellent understanding of software development fundamentals, data structures, design patterns, object-oriented programming, and algorithms.
Ability to prioritise and adapt quickly.

�? Education:

Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred.

?? Essential Skills:

Strong Java Core & Enterprise knowledge.
Understanding of capital markets.
Proficiency in JMS, TIBCO, Kafka.
Experience with Oracle RDBMS.
Unix and scripting skills (Bash / PERL).
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines.
Test-driven development experience, including Unit and End-to-End Testing.

�? Desirable Skills:

Knowledge of Securities Lending / Equity Finance domain.
Background in system performance tuning and low-latency Java programming.
Familiarity with React.
Experience with In-Memory Datastore/Cache libraries (Redis, Apache Ignite, Gemfire).
