About the Role

Base Location: Leeds, Glasgow, Perth, Dublin, other locations can be considered

Salary: £47,600 - £71,600 / €64,000 - €96,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

We have an opportunity for an OT Cyber Security Engineer to join Thermal Engineering and Asset Management (TEAM) within SSE Thermal.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Responsible for leading and contributing to the supply of subject matter expertise across a wide range of operational assets on OT cyber security, leading cyber security risk assessments and gap analysis and the development of engineering solutions required to mitigate cyber security risks.
  • Responsible for the application of cyber security design standards within the Large Capital Project contracting process and contributing to the project design criteria and supplier engagement to ensure correct application of the contractual requirements through the Verification and Validation process.
  • Responsible for engaging with the SSE Cyber Risk and Information Security team for 2nd line compliance activities to be carried out.
  • Provide appropriate company representation with Competent Authorities (Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (RoI), Ofgem (UK), DESNZ (UK) and the Health and Safety Executive (UK))

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Knowledge and experience of implementing NIST framework (800-53) including 800-82 overlay, HSE Operational Guidance OG 86, IEC 62443 and the NIS Directive/Regulations and other information privacy legislation.
  • Knowledge and experience of UK Cyber assessment framework (UKCAF), authoring and linking internal procedural cyber security governance, and implementation of technical security controls that can surround industrial environments.
  • Knowledge and understanding of working with and application of risk management frameworks.
  • Experience of running OT security risk assessments and building a remediation strategy in an industrial control system environment.
  • Sound technical knowledge and experience of industrial control systems engineering and application of the Purdue Enterprise Reference Architecture.
