Salary/rate: £26,000 per annum (pro rata)

Short description of role:

We are working with a UK Carer's Support Charity to recruit a Caseworker within a friendly team of enthusiastic colleagues to support carers by providing expert assessment, advice, support planning, and casework.

As a caseworker you will be responsible for carrying out carer assessments, providing unpaid adult carer's with individual support plans as well as developing relationships with partner organisations to raise awareness for carer's rights and needs. The successful candidate will be empathetic and committed to supporting carers, with excellent organisation and ICT Skills. You will be responsible for efficiently managing assessments with experience of handling significant workloads and clearing a significant backlog of assessments.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Conducting detailed carers assessments and support plans.
  • Assessing carer's eligibility for financial support and making necessary applications.
  • Making referrals to appropriate support services and ensuring follow-ups.
  • Empowering carers to manage their role effectively.
  • Collaborating with other organisations to address carers' needs.
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to reports for management and funding bodies.
  • Providing emotional support to carers in times of crisis
  • Managing administrative duties at a high level.

To be considered for the role you will have the following, skills, knowledge, and experience:

Extensive experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds with varying needs.

  • Competent in independently managing case-loads and maintaining comprehensive case notes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in facilitating support groups for a diverse clientèle.
  • Skilled in establishing external partnerships through proactive outreach and networking.
  • Exceptional ability to balance tasks efficiently in a demanding environment.
  • Strong cooperative and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft programs and managing databases for report generation.
  • Some knowledge of issues affecting unpaid carers.
  • Enthusiastic about delivering high-quality services to carers
  • Proactive with a keen eye for detail.
  • Committed to promoting equality and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Aligned with the values of the charity.
