Full-Time Teaching Assistant

Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school located in the S2 area of Sheffield. This is a full-time role where you will work closely with a Year 1 class, providing essential support in phonics and maths. Additionally, you will be offering tailored assistance to pupils with SEND who require intensive support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Year 1 class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to pupils, particularly in phonics and maths.
- Offer dedicated support to pupils with SEND, adapting learning activities to meet their individual needs.
- Foster a kind and nurturing classroom environment that supports all pupil's learning and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for pupils with SEND.
- Monitor and report on pupil's progress, ensuring they are achieving their learning goals.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Ideally, hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Previous experience working with young pupils, particularly those with additional needs, is highly beneficial.
- A kind, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting children's development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for education and a commitment to supporting all pupils to achieve their best.
