Academics is currently recruiting a Year 1 Teacher on behalf of a vibrant primary school in Lewes. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated educator who is passionate about early childhood education and committed to making a positive impact on young learners.

Role Overview:

As the Year 1 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering creative and engaging lessons that cater to the needs of each child. You will foster a nurturing classroom environment where students feel confident and excited to learn. By working closely with support staff and parents, you will ensure every child reaches their full potential academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver lessons in line with the Year 1 curriculum, focusing on core literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
  • Create a positive, inclusive atmosphere where all students are encouraged to thrive.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing individualized support where needed.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to contribute to the wider school community.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience teaching in an early years or primary school setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning needs.
  • A passion for early childhood education and inspiring a love of learning.
