Payroll Officer

We are excited to be supporting a growing local business that is currently seeking a Payroll Officer to join their friendly team. In this role, you will oversee the complete administration of their Payroll and Time & Attendance (T&A) functions, ensuring timely and accurate payments for all employees. Your efforts will help create an exceptional experience regarding Pay & Reward. Staying up to date with payroll knowledge and skills is crucial to delivering outstanding service in this role.
Description of the role:
- Complete payroll administration, including monitoring, adjusting, and updating the Time & Attendance system weekly and monthly.
- Ensure accurate and timely new starters and leavers calculations, including accrued holiday payments.
- Calculate and process payments for Tax, NI, Pension, SSP, CSP, SAP, SPP, SMP, overtime, unpaid absence, OT Holiday payments, Council & Court orders, and Scottish Earning's Arrestment Orders.
- Issue E-Payslips, E-P60s, and P45s.
- Provide accurate monthly reports to the finance department, including headcount, absence, and turnover statistics.
- Link personal objectives to overall business goals and implement new processes to enhance payroll efficiency.
- Stay up to date with relevant payroll regulations and legislation, implementing changes as necessary and keeping Finance, HR, and the wider UK team informed.
- Handle RTI and pension submissions, year-end processing, and maintain the Payroll and Time & Attendance system.
About you:
- Proven payroll experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proactive, and organised, with sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, both within a team and on your own initiative.
- Excellent Microsoft Office experience (Word & Excel).
