Job Title: Draughtsperson / CAD Operator
Location: Liverpool (L11)
Reports To: Drawing Office Manager

Our client is a well established manufacturing business based in Liverpool, they are looking for an experienced Draughtsperson / CAD Operator to join their dynamic Drawing Office team. They offer a range of bespoke products for commercial clients across the UK. A position has become available to join their busy and expanding department as a Draughtsperson / CAD Operator. This role will be based in L11, it is easily accessible and offers free parking.

You will play a key role in delivering accurate, high-quality 2D and 3D fabrication drawings, liaising with internal departments, and supporting the manufacturing process from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce detailed manufacturing and fabrication drawings based on project designs within specified timescales.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Estimating teams to develop detailed and accurate briefs for client specifications.
  • Support the manufacturing and site installation teams by clarifying fabrication drawings and addressing queries.
  • Provide feedback on design changes or potential issues that may impact project cost or timeline to the Design Team Manager.
  • Work closely with Structural Engineers to resolve design-related issues.
  • Prepare drawings for client approval and actively chase approvals when necessary.
  • Identify and report any design changes or issues that could impact project timelines or budgets.
  • Generate manufacturing details, shop assembly drawings, and installation instructions.
  • Create precise 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a design or drawing environment, ideally within the manufacturing sector.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D).
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing methods, including sheet metal, machining, welding, and assembly.
  • High attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative team player with a positive working attitude.
