Facilities Management Corporate Programme Manager

We are searching for an exceptional Corporate Programme Manager to join our facilities management service to drive innovation and excellence.

Facilities Management provide a vital service to maintain and support a diverse range of buildings and services including libraries, fire stations and day centres. The successful candidate will be pivotal to ensuring West Sussex County Council provides a safe and fit for purpose-built environment for all staff and members of the public alike.

Salary: £52,049 to £55,615 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week) Monday to Friday

Location: County Hall, West Street, Chichester, PO19 1RQ (Hybrid and Flexible Working)

This role offers hybrid working arrangements and will require you to work from county council office buildings and make regular site visits, as well as the flexibility of home working as appropriate. Final arrangements to be confirmed with successful candidate.

You will need to be able to travel independently around the county, including to areas that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Pool cars and pool bikes available.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will thrive as a subject matter expert to deliver a customer focussed technical surveying project management service.

Your expertise will be instrumental in be continuously monitoring a project's performance, developing procedures, analysing information, developing plans and business cases, and building important partnerships to manage the day-to-day direction of the overall project portfolio.

You will collaborate with cross functional teams such as consultants, contractors, and all directorate clients to ensure efficient project planning and delivery.

This is a leadership role which will include the performance management of a team of Surveyors, Engineers and building specialists. You will coordinate, plan and deliver activities and objectives, as well as contributing to the development and shape of future service provision.

About You

We are looking for someone with proven leadership skills and a desire to use these in influencing colleagues, partners and decision-makers, as part of our mission to secure continuous improvement in our Facilities Management service.

You will hold a honours degree or equivalent qualification in a building surveying or related construction discipline and be a skilled project manager with a detailed understanding of managing building and development projects.

With previous experience operating a demanding design and project management service, you will have sound IT skills including Microsoft Project (or alike) accurate analyse data and information to effectively manage the project process.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate political awareness when working with members and senior management. You will be a experienced people management, with good performance management skills and the ability to provide direction and support.
