Graduate Data Analyst

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Data/BI Graduate to join a forward-thinking company on its digital journey. This new role within the Business Systems team will have you working across multiple information systems with a focus on business systems. You will support the implementation of new systems across the organisation and help maintain and evolve our existing systems by resolving routine ICT service requests and issues. This role is crucial in supporting the development of business intelligence solutions using Microsoft PowerBi in a mature reporting environment.

  • Salary: £24,000, rising to £32,000

Day to Day of the role:

  • Engage in data modelling activities using SQL and PowerBi to design robust curated datasets.
  • Visualise key priority reporting and empower users to create their own visuals.
  • Help develop the BI Solution Architecture, Replication Warehouse, and secure data sets using the Microsoft application stack.
  • Test and modify new data sets and reports to ensure they operate reliably and do not disrupt operations.
  • Tackle data integrity, quality, and robustness challenges with legacy/system data.
  • Develop and update BI process maps that underpin the system architecture and configuration.
  • Document business requirements and consult with end users, key users, and process owners to ensure that functionality and configuration meet evolving business requirements.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects.
  • Develop and deliver training materials and support to enhance user experience within the systems suite and improve their data analytics capabilities.
  • Assist in the provision and support of developed ‘low code' applications based on group architecture.
  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive data/information.
  • Build and maintain workflows and process automation.
  • Support other Business Systems Analysts during resource-intensive phases of their projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar or related role in reporting systems is advantageous.
  • Relevant degree or qualification in business analytics.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to analyse complex situations and solve problems.
  • Understanding of GDPR and good practice in complex data management.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Pragmatic approach, able to balance the ideal with the reality of what is needed today.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as PowerBi, SQL, Data warehouse, and ETL solutions.
  • Familiarity with Dynamics Navision, iTrent, SharePoint Online Office 365 is desirable.
