What does the Biochip Formulation team do?

Randox is the 2nd largest manufacturer of Quality Control products globally. Diagnostic Laboratories are obliged to use these QC products to ensure the accuracy and precision of their processes and equipment used. Biochip Formulation is a key team within Randox, and it plays an essential role within the manufacturing, working closely with our formulation team - this role will focus on utilising the automated machines for Biochip manufacturing.

Location: Randox Site 4, 44 Largy Road, Crumlin, Co Antrim, BT294RN.
Contract Offered: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours / Shifts: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. 7.00am-3.40pm and 10.00am-6.40pm.

What does the Biochip Formulation Scientist role involve?

This role is responsible for working in the clean room, maximising the full capacity of our two automated machines cutting Biochips.

  • Following an established Biochip Formulation Procedures.
  • Performing quality checks ensuring manufacturing standards.
  • Accurate identification and removal of rejected Biochips.
  • Operational trouble shoot of automated production lines.
  • High quality sealing and labelling of biochip array products.
  • The accurate completion of appropriate manufacturing paperwork.
  • Meeting manufacturing deadlines.
  • Cleaning of work areas.

Full on the job training will be provided on our processes.

Who can apply?

This role would suit someone who has graduated in a Life Science degree. who wishes to develop their career with a global diagnostic manufacturer. (Relevant manufacturing experience considered).

Other Essential criteria:

  • Qualified to Bachelor level in Life Science degree.
  • Ability to demonstrate good communication skills.
  • Good proficiency with everyday IT programs.
  • Eligibility to work within the UK
  • Flexibility around start and finish times when required due the nature of the formulation runs and schedule.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience within a clean room environment.
  • Relevant experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.
  • Experience using a stock control system, such as Sage.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and Quality systems.
