Tax Trainee Apprenticeship

Posted by Bryony Gibson Consulting.

A super rare opportunity to join a local north east accountancy firm as they look to welcome a Tax Trainee on an apprenticeship offering full training to provide a long and successful career in tax.

We are looking for a recent school leaver or graduate who can demonstrate their genuine interest in a career in tax and working in the accountancy profession.

Your day to day work will include:

As a Tax Trainee predominantly working with self-assessment returns but with exposure to corporate tax, you will be trained to reach a point where you are confident to be responsible for:

  • Preparation of Personal Tax Returns for a variety of clients such as Directors and High Net Worth Individuals.
  • Liaise with HMRC to deal with any queries you or your clients may have
  • Build long-term relationships with clients to ensure the success of the firm
  • Attending client meetings in person with the Partner (and virtually) to take notes and observe
  • Undertaking tax research for colleagues to support the provision of advice

We are looking for:

  • The ideal candidate will be ambitious, have an interest in tax, and keen to study towards their ATT qualification - before moving on to their CTA if required.
  • First and foremost a good working attitude is essential.
  • The successful individual will be analytical and methodical, with an organised approach that supports prioritising workloads.
  • A strong communicator with good written and verbal english, able to work under pressure to a high standard.
  • Applicants must have access to a car to access the offices each day, towards the West of Newcastle.

If you have a passion for Tax this would be a great opportunity to join a well regarded firm with diverse workload offering a supportive environment and the best tools and training to make you a reputable Chartered tax advisor.

Please note that only those applicants who have a legal right to work in the UK can be considered.
