Description

This opportunity stands out in the Building Control and Local Government space. It provides unique, headline-grabbing projects that you won't find elsewhere. You'll be involved in various types of development across the Borough, including, leisure developments such as the extension to the Etihad stadium and other nationally prominent leisure and cultural developments such as the Coop Live Arena and the Factory, , student accommodation, high-rise residential buildings, city centre offices and commercial schemes, town centre regeneration projects such as Wythenshawe, Hospital redevelopments including at the World Renowned Christies Hospital as well as Manchester Airport . As part of the 20-member building control team, you'll report to the Technical Manager, supporting them in managing the team's financial and operational performance. Your role focuses on enhancing standards related to buildings, construction, and public safety, while fostering essential partnerships to maintain high-quality service delivery. Daily tasks include site visits, collaboration with your team, and ensuring project compliance and safety. You will manage a team of Building Control professionals and help them develop their careers and professional knowledge.

Profile

If you're a Principal Building Control Inspector or a Building Control Inspector seeking career advancement, feel free to reach out! I'd be happy to explore how your expertise in current building regulations can contribute to enhancing standards related to buildings, construction, and public safety. If you're not already at Level 3 according to the Building Inspector Competence Framework, don't worry, the council will support you in achieving this qualification.
