37.5 hours per week - flexible start and finish times; for example 8 am - 4 pm or 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.

Our client, a global, industry leading business based close to Eastwood are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This is a rare opportunity to join a successful business where you will gain valuable exposure to management accounts. You'll have the chance to work alongside an experienced and highly qualified senior finance team, dedicated to supporting and developing your career.

  • You'll be responsible for all aspects of sales ledger and credit control and to offer support to the finance team by performing month-end accounting tasks.
  • You will be involved with inventory management, and various other accounting tasks.
  • You will monitor credit limit expiry dates and review/update credit limits/expiry in accordance with credit insurance and internal credit control policy.
  • You will monitor trade receivables in line with payment terms, providing weekly update to management of debtors.
  • You will work with management to assist with the accurate forecasting.
  • You will match cash received to invoices outstanding and monitoring bank receipts and posting these on to the ERP system.
  • You will building relationships with customers, chasing customers for due and overdue debts.

Over time, the role will grow to include the following responsibilities:

  • Assisting with preparation of management accounts
  • Preparing and posting journals for aged debt/claims/reclass of credit balances
  • Prepayments and Accruals, Fixed Assets and Leases
  • Monitoring overhead spend and variances
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations and maintain fixed asset register
  • Work with other group companies to reconcile inter-company balances
  • Assisting with audit requests
  • Assisting with inventory checks
  • Monitoring and reporting on inventory transactions and variances

To be successful in the role you must have:

  • Proven experience in accounts or a similar role
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in using accounting software and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well within a team
