JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Sheltered Retirement Housing Scheme Manager who has previous facilities / building and estate management experience.

Working as the Sheltered Retirement Housing Scheme Manager you will join a friendly and working team that support the day-to-day running of the retirement accommodation / older person's services, which make it easier for the users to live independently.

As the Sheltered Retirement Housing Scheme Manager you will manage the building and estate covering health and safety, manage facilities, support the Lettings Team with viewings, building security, older person's services and cleanliness.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Sheltered Retirement Housing Scheme Manager will include:

  • Be accountable for Health & Safety and Fire safety checks including comprehensive and clearly auditable records. Effective liaison between internal departments as necessary
  • Effective management of the building and estate to ensure effective health and safety management, security and cleanliness of the site. This will include things such as reporting repairs, undertaking fire alarms, conducting pull cord checks and effective recording of this
  • Assist the Housing and Lettings Team by completing viewings, assessments, tenancy sign up and induction meetings to ensure customers understand the tenancy agreement, their rights and obligations, service specification and property facilities, complying with legislative and accreditation requirements
  • Effectively manage the termination of tenancies and associated liaison with the voids, lettings team and contractors
  • Provide a person-centred service to customers that encapsulates the 'Retirement Living' ethos utilising the provided tools and guides available
  • Accountable for appropriate and effective safeguarding reporting and actions, in line with legislation and internal reporting systems
  • Be responsible for customer engagement and consultation, facilitate customers' aspirations for social and wellbeing activities, proactively engaging with care, statutory, and voluntary agencies, ensuring the service and site is accessible to all
  • Manage facilities including guest rooms and communal room bookings
  • Manage low level ASB cases in accordance with policies and procedures working with the Housing team and provide clear guidance to customers reporting ASB
  • Provide customers with advice and facilitating move to alternative accommodation as required
  • To be the point of contact and liaison with all relevant agencies, both statutory and voluntary as required
  • Assist customers to claim Housing Benefit and other welfare benefits, to ensure rent arrears are reduced and rent is paid regularly and on time
  • Responsible for regularly monitoring and reporting on the general safety and wellbeing of customers, including signposting, and referring customers to support services' where appropriate
  • Manage low level complaints or dissatisfaction on site
