Finance Assistant

**My client is a hugely successful multi discipline group fo companies who are continuing to grow organically and through acquisition. They currently have an opportunity for an experienced Finance Assistant to join their team initially on a 12 month contract to cover maternity leave with the strong possibility of a permanent role as they continue to grow.

Purpose of the Role

Support the Groupfinance function to process and post all ledger transactions.

Act as support to the business and flag at the earliest opportunity/awareness of risks/issues with any trading

Ad hoc support of Senior Management (Group Finance Director/Group Financial Controller)

Main Responsibilities

Timesheets

  • Overview activity whilst collating resource time allocation and cost checking for mistakes.
  • Ensure time entered onto Job Logic/Eque 2 collates to work undertaken and allocated against the correct job.

Payroll

  • Support as required the processing of payroll
  • Understand the start to end process of weekly payroll processing to give contingency and resilience to the Finance Team for 24-7 Group.

Expenses

  • Sundry activity relating to expenses claimed i.e checking validity/rates etc
  • Webexpense approval process following review.
  • Approvals/Batching/Review and entry of expenses onto Job Logic/Eque 2

Sales Invoicing/Cash Collection

  • Key client activity - checking values authorised/client portal/values requiring invoicing etc
  • Ad hoc credit control duties following submission of applications and invoices to clients
  • Liaise with clients re overdue invoices to obtain payment dates

Purchase Invoices/PO's

  • Review outstanding PO's and action as required
  • Check for duplicates and advise.
  • Resolve disputed invoices with the operation team
  • Undertake payment run suggestions to assist managing cashflow
  • Statement reconciliation

Job Costing/Reporting (as and when familiarity permits)

  • Production of ad hoc reports for business
  • WIP reporting leading to chasing of billing

FBP activity

  • Assist with the management accounts for FM/Group/Holdings as required
  • Budget/Forecast activity as required
  • Assist GFD/GFC with cash forecasting

Ad hoc duties as required - to include but not exclusively support on new systems implementation.
