Management Accountant (Full time or reduced hours)
Based: Bury
Salary: up to £40k dependent on experience + benefits
Hours - 37.5 a week but can consider 4 days also
Our client is a well-established, well-known business in the Bury area. Due to maternity leave, we are looking for a Management Accountant to join the team on a 12 month FTC (possible extension) to facilitate a good handover. You will get the chance to work in a great business, working within a long-standing finance team
Role:
- Producing management accounts for review from Financial Controller
- Producing P&L with analytical notes
- Fixed asset register, depreciation journals
- Posting accruals, prepayments and journals
- Dealing with queries regarding finance/month end
- Reconciliations & general ledger work
- Analysing final set of accounts, comparing to prior months highlighting inconsistences/anomalies that need investigating
- Year end - assisting with queries from auditors
- Quarterly VAT returns, calculating and submitting VAT return
Experience:
- QBE, AAT or qualified / part-qualified
- Experience producing management accounts is essential
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Forward thinking, able to use initiative to dive into numbers and query
