Day to Day of the role:
- Delivering a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum for pupils.
- Implementing and adapting lesson plans to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH or complex emotional and behavioural needs.
- Utilising a variety of teaching methods and therapeutic interventions to engage and motivate pupils.
- Working collaboratively with support staff and therapists to enhance the learning experience.
- Monitoring and assessing pupils' progress, and providing feedback to parents and carers.
- Contributing to the creation of a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH or complex emotional and behavioural needs.
- A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and autism.
- Experience in a PRU or similar setting is preferable.
- Restraint training (such as PRICE or de-escalation training) is desirable but not essential.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for making a difference in the lives of children.
