Day to Day of the role:

  • Delivering a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum for pupils.
  • Implementing and adapting lesson plans to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH or complex emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Utilising a variety of teaching methods and therapeutic interventions to engage and motivate pupils.
  • Working collaboratively with support staff and therapists to enhance the learning experience.
  • Monitoring and assessing pupils' progress, and providing feedback to parents and carers.
  • Contributing to the creation of a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH or complex emotional and behavioural needs.
  • A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and autism.
  • Experience in a PRU or similar setting is preferable.
  • Restraint training (such as PRICE or de-escalation training) is desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for making a difference in the lives of children.
