Reed Education is working with a secondary school in Weaverham to recruit a Design Technology Teacher. This full-time role is set to start immediately after the half-term break and will provide essential cover for the DT department. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual who can engage students and deliver high-quality lessons.
Location: Weaverham, Cheshire
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term Contract
Start Date: After Half-Term
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Design Technology to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, including practical and theory-based lessons.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in areas such as Resistant Materials, Graphics, Textiles, and Product Design.
- Prepare students for assessments, offering constructive feedback and support.
- Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment in the workshop or classroom.
- Assess and track student progress, ensuring individual learning needs are addressed.
- Stay updated on the latest DT curriculum developments and teaching practices.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience teaching Design Technology at secondary school level.
- Strong knowledge of a variety of DT disciplines and practical skills.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
- Enhanced DBS (can be processed through Reed).
