Reed Finance Cambridge are delighted to be working exclusively with a high-tech, intellectual business in Cambridge, on the recruitment of a permanent, part-time Finance Director. Applicants looking to work 60%-80% are encouraged to apply.

We are inviting applications for a Finance Director to join this impressive Senior Leadership Team, made up of big 4 trained accountants, senior academics and technology professionals.

The successful Finance Director will be a pivotal figure within the organisation, providing strategic financial leadership and oversight of corporate services. This role offers a blend of on-site and remote working, fostering a culture that values work-life balance and collaborative engagement. You will be expected to work one day each week from the Cambridge office.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls and adherence to financial policies.
  • Provide strategic financial reporting and analysis to the Senior Management Team, Audit Committee, and Board.
  • Develop and implement the organisation's financial strategy to optimise performance and growth.
  • Offer expert advice on financial risks and maintain key banking and financial relationships.
  • Facilitate compliance and best practice in the preparation of bids and commercial contracts.
  • Ensure the organisation's adherence to all relevant corporate legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as Company Secretary, overseeing corporate governance and Board communications.

Qualifications:

  • Recognised accountancy qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
  • Degree-level education.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial accounting standards, corporate governance, and risk management.
  • Demonstrable experience in a leadership role at Board level within a service-based organisation.
  • Proficiency in managing corporate services functions, including IT and legal/company secretarial responsibilities.
  • Strategic and operational expertise, with a commercial mindset.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
