Robertson Bell is pleased to be partnering with this social housing provider in their search for an Assistant Management Accountant role to join our team on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Financial Reporting Manager this role will assist with the day-to-day activities of the financial reporting function ensuring that budgetary control is maintained and accurate financial and performance management information is delivered regularly and promptly to budget holders, the Executive Management Team, Senior Managers, the Board, Regulators and Funders.

The key duties of this role are as follows:

  • Preparation of high-quality accurate management accounts and performance management information.
  • Assist with all aspects of management accounting and reporting, including statutory accounting, budgetary control and performance management data.
  • Prepare accruals/prepayments and other correction journals.
  • Actively support and advise budget holders of the corporate services teams in the preparation and development of forecasts, budgets and management information.
  • Maintain and update non-property fixed asset register including calculating and posting of monthly deprecation.
  • Regular meetings with all budget holders of the corporate services teams to support, develop and strengthen relationships.
  • Develop performance reports in consultation with management team and on own initiative.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Part-qualified as an accountant (AAT or equivalent), or demonstrable relevant experience.
  • Experience of book keeping, accruals/prepayments and completing statistical and other financial returns.
  • Ability to provide basic financial analysis, information and advice to managers.
  • Effective written & verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills, with a customer focused outlook.
  • Thinks clearly and logically, with analytical skills and the ability to interpret and extrapolate financial data.
