Higher-Level Teaching Assistant | Barking IG11 | £100-£125 | Long term to perm | Sept Start
LTF Recruitment are looking for a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to join the outstanding staff in a school based in Barking. This role will require you to do things that a regular Teaching Assistant does, however you will have increased responsibility and will need to have good knowledge of strategies to best support SEN children. The role will be full time with a potential to become permanent for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cover planned absences and allow teachers time and mark by teaching some classes on your own.
- Supervising children, assessing, recording, and reporting on their progress.
- You will be required to plan, prepare, and deliver your own interventions with individual pupils, groups, or the whole class.
- Liaise with parents and carers for pupils.
- Running 1:1 interventions with pupils, including SEN children.
Key requirements:
- Level 4 relevant qualification desired but not essential.
- Have a genuine passion for building relationships with children and teaching them.
- Meet the HLTA professional standards.
- Have good knowledge of SEN needs and the curriculum.
- Successful experience within a similar setting.
- Have a valid DBS or be willing to apply for a new DBS.
