Role Summary:

As a Sub-Contract Planner, you will play a critical role in ensuring smooth and efficient production scheduling for outsourced components and services. You'll be responsible for managing relationships with subcontractors, coordinating delivery schedules, and working closely with internal teams to align subcontract planning with the overall production process. This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in planning and supply chain within manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and Coordinate: Develop and manage subcontract plans and schedules to meet production requirements and timelines
  • Supplier Management: Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and timely delivery of outsourced components
  • Capacity Planning: Assess subcontractor capacity and availability to ensure alignment with production demands and resolve any bottlenecks
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve lead times
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams including production, purchasing, and quality control to ensure seamless integration of subcontract activities
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports on subcontractor performance, delivery schedules, and any variances, and present data to senior management

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience as a planner or similar role within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management, production scheduling, and subcontracting processes
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Experience in ERP or MRP systems is highly advantageous
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
