Education Support Assistant

  • Annual Salary: £21,497 (pro-rata)
  • Location: BS16, Mangotsfield
  • Job Type: 1 Year Fixed Term (35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year)
  • Contract Type: Fixed Term until 31/08/2025

Join our pastoral team as an Education Support Assistant at Mangotsfield School, a rapidly improving institution with a strong community focus. This role is crucial in planning and delivering targeted interventions for KS4 students requiring additional support to achieve their personal aspirations and maintain high expectations.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan and deliver targeted interventions to identified KS4 students.
  • Work with students to help them identify their personal aspirations and maintain high expectations.
  • Support students working independently on core subjects and provide mentoring interventions.
  • Accompany students to off-site activities as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proactive, resourceful, and committed to securing high standards for all young people.
  • Up-to-date knowledge and commitment to recent training in SEND interventions, literacy, or numeracy.
  • Good communication and organisational skills for liaising with parents, outside agencies, and students.
  • Compassion, patience, and confidence to work with secondary students in KS4.
  • Good standard of education with proficiency in English and Maths.
  • Experience working with young people with SEND is essential; SEND-specific qualifications are desirable.
