We are looking for a Finance Manager to join a client of ours within the Student Property sector to take responsibility for a designated portfolio within the Finance Department. The successful candidate will oversee the full spectrum of financial and accounting functions, manage operational activities of the finance team, and ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.

This role requires a fully qualified Accountant who has demonstrated experience either within the student property or real estate investment sector.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee financial and accounting functions, including the preparation of financial statements for group reporting and statutory audits.
  • Manage the finance team's operations, streamlining processes and procedures to promote efficiency and accuracy.
  • Liaise with auditors and manage the audit process.
  • Conduct budgeting and forecasting for the portfolio of entities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.
  • Drive the implementation of group policies, processes, and systems.
  • Review regulatory and compliance reporting requirements, including quarterly GST reporting.
  • Assist in ad-hoc projects driving process improvement, such as SAP implementation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) with a Degree in Accountancy, ACCA, or equivalent.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant accounting or audit experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Well-versed in GAAP and IFRS.
  • Experience in SAP and Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) is highly advantageous.
  • Experience in the student property or real estate industry is a clear advantage.
  • Hands-on finance operations experience, good accounting knowledge, and assertiveness.
  • Proven ability in managing people and working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Candidates with REIT experience will have an added advantage.
