Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE

Simpson Judge are proud to be assisting one of our fasted developing clients in their search for another Court of Protection specialist, for their thriving and growing team in Birmingham City Centre.

Are you an experienced Private Client Fee Earner/Executive or Solicitor that has a keen interest in the emerging sector which is Court of Protection, as these are the type of individuals our client is looking to speak to at this moment in time.

The successful candidate will join a small welcoming team in Birmingham who have a wealth of matters that they are looking to service, but they are now over capacity hence the reason for the role.

For this role you will need to be either a Private Client or Court of Protection specialist with:

  • 3 years case handling experience as a Fee Earner or trainee SQE Paralegal.
  • Qualified Legal Executive or Solicitor with a minimum of 12 months experience in a Private Client department.

Your day to day duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Drafting Deputyship applications
  • Liaising with family members, care homes, case managers and financial advisors
  • Drafting Wills
  • Inheritance tax and estate planning
  • Drafting Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Setting up Trusts
  • Trust registration
  • Dealing with Probate and estate administration
  • Keeping clients updated in a clear and empathetic manner
  • Working to court and procedural deadlines
  • Maintaining awareness of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, the Mental Capacity Code of Practice and Court of Protection Rules
