HGV Technician Vacancy
Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme
Day shift: Monday to Friday
40 hours per week,
£18p/h plus overtime.
Permanent, full time position
Are you a fully qualified HGV Fitter/Mechanic/Technician living in the Newcastle-under-Lyme area looking for a workshop based role? Would you work for a company that services, maintains and repairs their own fleet? Do you want an non-pressurised workshop rather than the time constraints of a main dealer? The role of the HGV Technician:
You will be working on a variety of tractor and trailer units of differing makes and models, of differing ages and possibly the odd tanker
The type of work as a HGV Technician you can expect to be carrying out includes (but is not limited to)
- Routine (and preventative) maintenance
- MOT preparation
- Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
- 6 (or 8) weekly inspections
- Correction of running defects
- Chassis and fabrication work
- Hydraulics and pneumatics
- Improvement of vehicle standards
- Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections
You will be carrying out inspections to a varied and diverse fleet and you can expect to be situated in a positive and vibrant working environment.
Requirements for this HGV Technician position:
- Ideally you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.
- Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or an EV qualification would be desirable but not essential.
