Seven Resourcing are looking for a Senior Procurement and contracts Officer to work with Lewisham Council. This is a full-time position, and we are paying £231.57 Paye for this role and £300 umbrella.

The role:

The Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer will work collaboratively with the specific Procurement and Contracts Manager and relevant stakeholders to deliver successful strategic procurements solutions, effective contract management, including purchasing and sourcing. In addition, deliver small to medium value procurements through the end-to-end process.

Key Responsibilities:

To assist the Procurement and Contracts Manager with supporting Directorates procurement and contract management activity through the current decentralized model. To this end, to manage and assist with the on-going maintenance of the integrated online procurement system and procedures for use by client directorates across the Council. To keep that system up to date and always fit for purpose to enable compliance with EU, UK, local regulation, and Council regulation and achieve maximum effectiveness and efficiency.

To provide written guidance, comprehensive training and provide advice to Directorate commissioners in all matters pertaining to procurement practice including the law, advise on the use of the integrated online system, support options appraisals, tendering strategy and the development of selection and evaluation criteria with direction and guidance from the Procurement and Contracts Manager as appropriate.

To support the review of tender documentation prior to publication to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and Council regulations.

To monitor the procurement practice of Directorates by examination of their use of the integrated online system to ensure that the Council's procurement practice and contract management is always compliant with relevant legislation and Council regulations and to take action to redress if necessary.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications:

GCSEs A-C or equivalent including at least English and Maths.

Educated to A Level standard or equivalent experience.

Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.

Compliance: Current Standard DBS check.

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 35 hours p/w.
