Children's Magic Club Instructor

Ketsy's Young Magicians is a unique extra-curricular school magic club that offers children the chance to learn, practice and perform magic tricks. Children work through a new colourful instructional booklet each week and collect stickers for every magic trick they complete in the club.
The club is enormous fun and has proven extremely popular amongst; infant and primary schools, teachers, parents and of course the children. We have been running since 2011 and currently operate in 34 schools and teach over 500 children weekly in before school, lunch club and after school sessions.
We seek a new Magic Club Instructor to deliver an exceptional standard of children's magic club to a number of schools on a weekly basis. The successful candidate will be fully trained on the club format, sticker booklet content and taught all magic tricks by professional working magicians. The focus is on finding enthusiastic talent who can represent our small but dynamic organisation. The successful candidate does not need to know or have a background in magic or the magic arts.
We are proud of our first-class reputation and for the increasing attention we receive from new schools. It's for this reason that we are looking for a new team member to help cater for demand and deliver the Ketsy's Young Magicians club program in a professional, energetic and charismatic manner.

The Job Role
The successful candidate will come onboard initially for a 3-month probationary period. Receiving extensive training from our team on the club session planning and delivery of club content.
We seek someone that can inspire and build a strong rapport with children. Each session takes the same format:
- Registration
- Magic trick demonstration
- Method explanation
- Tutoring children on technique
- Appraising each performance and awarding stickers (in a consistent, fair and non-competitive way)
Office Administration
There will be an opportunity to work short hours from our office in Farnham, Surrey. You will be involved with the daily, weekly and termly club operations. Depending on suitability, the successful candidate may also help drive the business into new schools, counties and territories. Planning and delivering school holiday Magic Workshops.
Essential
The successful candidate must have the following:
- A clean criminal record (a DBS certificate is required for each individual working onsite in school setting).
- Experience of working with children in some capacity
- "Child friendly" soft skills.
- A full UK driving licence
- Impeccable presentation
- Strong communication skills
- A keen interest in magic/ magic tricks/ magic performance/magic theory
- Ability to work on a self-employed basis
- Weekly and termly availability to run regular clubs
- Creative thinking
- Desire to drive the business further and go" the extra mile" to add value to the organisation
Desirable

- Semi-professional/ Professional Magician experience
- Teaching experience
- Trainer experience
- Sales/ marketing background

- Account managing experience
Working hours
The position offers very relaxed working "club teaching" hours
8am - 9am
12 - 1pm
3-4/4-5pm
- Office hours flexible
Pay
Training at £11.50 per hour
Qualified (post probationary) sessions at £25 - £45 per hour
Office Administration at £11.50 per hour
