Salary: £32,247 (pro rata)
Hours: 22.2 hours per week (0.6 FTE)

Working Pattern: Alternating weekly rota (see below)

Are you an experienced crime investigator with a passion for tackling financial crime? A national police team is seeking a dedicated Fraud & Theft Investigator to join their team on a part-time basis.

?? About the Role

As a Fraud & Theft Investigator, you will:

  • Investigate vehicle finance theft and fraud cases submitted by financial institutions.
  • Develop and disseminate intelligence to prevent and detect crime.
  • Prepare evidential files for further police investigation.
  • Provide expert guidance on vehicle seizure and recovery.
  • Liaise with law enforcement and private sector partners across the UK and internationally.

?? What You'll Need

Essential:

  • QCF Level 2 (5 GCSEs including Maths and English) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven knowledge of evidence gathering and criminal law.
  • Strong report writing and communication skills.
  • Computer literate with accurate data handling skills.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of data protection and civil legislation relevant to finance and vehicle crime.

?? Working Pattern

You'll work 3 days per week (22.2 hours), alternating between:

Week 1:

  • Mon–Tue: Off
  • Wed–Fri: Working office hours

Week 2:

  • Mon–Wed: Working office hours
  • Thu–Fri: Off

You'll also be part of an occasional weekend on-call rota, responding to calls and completing paperwork from home.
