FPSG have some very exciting opportunities for Data Engineers to join our Central Belt based Client to design, develop and support a wide range of chiefly AWS based solutions. You will be working with a range of platforms, software and coding toolsets such as AWS, Azure, Python SAS and PySpark. The role is open to permanent job seekers who have the current right to work in the UK without any restrictions (NB...Visa sponsorship is NOT possible) and as there will be various Financial Services Clients to work with, predominantly on-site in Edinburgh, both Credit AND Criminal record checks must be passed in full prior to starting.
This will be an excellent opportunity for you to get heavily involved in programming and data preparation, as well as reporting on a diverse range of projects across a variety of Client business areas and exciting technologies.

Some further key responsibilities of the experienced Data Engineers coming into the Team will include a range of the following:
- Excellent, clear, daily communication with stakeholders of all levels to develop existing and open new Client partnerships.
- Data preparation, transformation & presentation using SQL on a number of different database platforms, such as DB2, SPDS, Oracle & Teradata,
- Management of a team of less experienced consultants and trainees, as well as input to Training & mentorship.
- Maintain skillset, develop new skills and keep up to date with the evolution of tools and services.
- Ensuring you provide clear documentation to the client for any item of work you handover.
Experience very useful in the following:
- Excellent SQL / SAS / Python & any relevant experience delivering data solutions
- Solution development experience
The following skills and qualities are also highly desirable:
- AWS Certification
- SAS knowledge and experience
- Physical database design experience
- Machine Learning experience
- Experience of Financial Services
