Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about education and looking for an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on young lives? We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at a reputable mainstream secondary school in Greenwich. This full-time, long-term position is available immediately and will last until the end of the academic year.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers to support the delivery of engaging and effective lessons.
  • Assist with the planning and preparation of classroom activities and resources.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students, helping them overcome academic challenges and reach their full potential.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the well-being and social development of students.
  • Help manage student behaviour and implement behaviour management strategies when necessary.
  • Contribute to the assessment and evaluation of student progress, providing valuable feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support students with special educational needs, ensuring their individual requirements are met.
  • Supervise students during break times and off-site activities, ensuring their safety at all times.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is essential.
  • Possession of an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the update service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • A genuine passion for education and a desire to make a difference in the lives of young people.
  • A degree in education or a related field is desirable, but not essential.
