Job Title: Construction Site Manager / Project Manager
Location: Cambridgeshire and neighbouring counties
Job type: Temporary to permanent
A specialist Construction, M&E and Renewables installation and consultancy company are looking for an experienced Site Manager / Project Manager to manage commercial fit out projects across a variety of sectors in healthcare, education, retail, commercial and industrial.
They work alongside property management companies and end user clients offering an end-to-end project delivery service.
As the Site/Project Manager you will have the following responsibilities:
- Lead and manage commercial fitout construction projects from pre-construction through to completion.
- Oversee and monitor daily operations, ensuring the project is progressing according to schedule.
- Ensure the projects are completed according to schedule and budget, undertaking effective planning.
- Manage materials, sub-contractors, installation, procurement and drawing programmes to accord with installation and specification requirements.
- Preparation of method statements and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control checks ensuring all works meets industry standards, regulations and client's specifications.
- Manage project risks, issues, and changes to scope, budget, and timelines.
- Communicate effectively with clients, supply chain, delivery teams and management to provide updates and resolve any issues.
Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Hold SMSTS, CSCS skills card and relevant industry qualification.
- Proven track record of successfully managing commercial fit-out projects from £10,000 to £1.5m.
- Multi trade knowledge, coming from a main contractor or construction background.
- Overall knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Effective planning and project management skills.
- Consistently good financial returns on projects, considering all relevant factors.
- Good people management and motivational skills.
- The ability to work under pressure to meet set deadlines.
- The ability to plan, co-ordinate, and prioritise workloads.
- Strong results orientation.
