Where you'll work: This role is based at North Kent College's Dartford campus, but regular travel to the Gravesend, Hadlow and Tonbridge sites will also be required.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Safeguarding Support Officer to join our team, working across all four of our campuses. In this crucial role, you will be at the forefront of supporting Looked After Children and Care Leavers, ensuring their educational attainment and well-being are prioritised through advocacy, crisis intervention, and collaborative efforts with key stakeholders. Additionally, you will monitor our College's internet Filtering and Monitoring Systems, maintaining a safe online environment for all students.
As a Safeguarding Support Officer, you will carry a case load of Looked After Children and Care Leavers, advocating for their rights and coordinating with social workers, healthcare providers, and educators to provide comprehensive support. Your responsibilities will include organising and attending Personal Education Plan meetings, facilitating access to mental health services, and helping students to become work and life ready. You will also ensure compliance with safeguarding policies by monitoring internet safety protocols and responding to incidents of concern.
