Manufacturing Manager

My client is a well-established Mobile Elevating Work Platform manufacturer and one of the largest in Europe which supplies worldwide, to continue this they are looking for a Production Engineering and Continuous Improvement Manager to join their team. As the Production Engineering and Continuous Improvement Manager you will be tasked with developing the company's manufacturing structures, standards, systems processes, machinery, and lean culture. This will be done by implementing lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and cost reductions. My client is currently Supplying over 40 companies worldwide and with over 400 employees across the UK they really are a fantastic place to work and professionally develop within a fast-paced environment.

Production and Continuous Improvement Manager Milton Keynes £75,000 - £80,000 (DOE) plus additional package, including 25 days holiday, healthcare scheme, 5% pension contribution, Annual bonus, cycle to work scheme, free family events, free company lunches and more.

Working Monday – Friday (0800 - 1630)

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Define production engineering plans, targets, timescales and resources.
  • Manage, support and coach the team members.
  • Support production engineering actions related to stakeholder meetings.
  • Manage sustainment and development of health and environment standards(ISO 45001 & 14001).
  • Strategically structure, plan, implement and sustain business manufacturing facilities and competitive capabilities.
  • Identify and project manage cost effective business viable ROI manufacturing automation / robotic system implementation within production.
  • Support reduction in overall manufacturing costs through best practice and development cells / line layouts and facilities.
  • Develop hands on analysis, problem solving and improvement methods within production.
  • Development and auditing of company stands document.
  • Improve lean manufacturing knowledge across the site – training, mentoring and support.
  • Develop supply formats, systems and packaging.
  • Material costs reduction

To apply you MUST have or hold:

  • Engineering or equivalent level of qualifications in manufacturing technical discipline level 5.
  • Leadership experience in continuous improvement/ LEAN function within Automotive, aerospace & engineering.
  • Excellent knowledge of kaizen/lean/six sigma.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process – assembly, machining and finishing systems.
  • Understanding of costing models, standard costing methods.
  • Knowledge of MRP systems.
  • Strong communication skills with all levels.
  • Excellent man management skills.
  • Able to work to deadlines.
  • Self motivated.
  • Good organisational skills.
