I am pleased to working exclusively with an amazing company seeking a Financial Controller to oversee financial operations within their lovely establishment in the hospitality sector. This role is crucial for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning, upholding the high standards of excellence our brand is known for. Your expertise will contribute to the sustainable growth and financial success, reinforcing the ethos and reputation of the well established and respected business.

Day to day of the role:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure financial reporting compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop annual budgets aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Conduct variance analysis to compare actual financial performance against budgeted figures.
  • Develop and implement internal control procedures to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks through effective control measures.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process and conduct internal audits to assess control effectiveness.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure working capital efficiency.
  • Develop tax strategies and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Utilise financial data to provide insights and create financial models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring professional development and accurate financial process execution.
  • Oversee the implementation and optimization of financial systems and ensure their integration with organizational processes.
  • Present financial information to leadership and provide financial guidance for strategic decisions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller, preferably in the hospitality sector.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with cash flow management, tax planning, and financial analysis.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to supervise and train a finance team.
  • Proficiency in Sage systems as well as strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
