Legal Assistant

Our client is a leading legal practice based in the York area. They are keen to employ an enthusiastic assistant to join their busy Private Client Dept.

Your duties will be varied and include

An experienced secretary/ paralegal with private client experience would be preferable.

  • Assist with the undertaking of fee-earning to an adequate standard of accuracy and efficiency under the supervision and instruction of the Wills and Probate fee earner.
  • Create strongroom records and ensure that they are maintained accurately.
  • Provide effective support services to the Wills and Probate fee earner.
  • Assist with the processing of instructions in accordance with established procedures of both good practice and the firm's quality system.
  • Type work as requested by Wills and Probate fee earner.
  • Assist in the personal organisation of the Wills and Probate fee earner through the operation of a diary management system, filing of papers etc.
  • Assist in communications with clients through relaying telephone messages both incoming and outgoing and providing any assistance which is possible.
  • Ensure the positive representation of the firm in all dealings with clients and others.
  • Arrange own post for transmission.
  • To be a team player and undertake any duties which may be required of you in order to assist with the efficient running of your department and the office in general.
