IT Service Desk Technician

Location: Hull

Salary: £28,500 per annum

The Role

The IT department are looking for someone to fill the vacancy of Service Desk Technician for the Hull office.

The role will be suited to someone who is technically minded, reliable, and like to help and support people with their IT related questions. The ideal candidate will have an interest in different aspects of IT and will be required to assist users with Windows 10/11, M365 apps, Nucleus queries, issues with printers, monitors, laptops, desktops, docking stations, mobile and telephone technology and the internet, movement of IT equipment, creation of knowledge base articles for team members and users.

Role Profile:

  • Supporting end users with service requests and incidents via Jira, their call logging system and ensuring that tickets contain sufficient information to be acted upon
  • Looking after queries relating to system software, applications and hardware
  • Follow customer issues through to their conclusion to ensure they are resolved
  • Ensure all contacts and actions are logged in Jira and regular updates provided to the customer
  • Ensure that issues that cannot be resolved by the service desk are escalated to the appropriate engineer with concise details and actions taken so far
  • Assist in creating technical documentation, knowledge base

Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

  • Qualification in computer science with relative IT Service Desk or similar work Vizion Network Ltd - Restricted Job Description – Accounts Assistant V1 – 26.03.2021 – 3 pages experience
  • Experience of software deployment and configuration tools
  • Experience working on an IT Service Desk with similar products and technologies
  • Configuration, support and deployment of laptops, desktops, phones and various hardware peripherals
  • Application management and distribution
  • Strong Knowledge of Windows 10/11
  • Strong Knowledge of M365 apps, support and administration
  • Good knowledge of common technologies in the desktop/laptop user environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Time management and organisation
  • Work effectively within a team
  • Customer service skills: calm, positive, professional, and able to listen
  • A natural inclination to find resolutions and help people
  • Willingness to learn and add to knowledge
  • Ability to assess, evaluate and priories work
  • Ability to create concise and practical documentation
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and without supervision

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Nucleus, Omnichannel, Audatex
  • Understanding of the principles of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
  • Networking skills an advantage
  • Knowledge of VMWare useful
  • Knowledge of Adobe apps
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Intra/Azure an advantage
