We are a leading Chinese bank in the City and currently recruiting for an Operations Assistant/Officer. The Bank is renowned worldwide for the quality of its customer services and has operated in the UK as a Branch for 9 years.
The successful candidates will be a highly driven, career-minded individual with a desire to gain a thorough knowledge of Operations within an international bank. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work within a small team covering a broad area of duties. The responsibilities in the role of the Operations Assistant/Officer will include the following:
- Client Lifecycle Management: Handle onboarding, maintenance, and lifecycle events for client accounts.
- Payments & Remittances: Process domestic and cross-border payments, inward remittances, and internal fund transfers.
- Loans & Guarantees: Manage UK mortgages, corporate loan and trade finance transactions, including syndicated loans and guarantees.
- FX & Derivatives: Execute and support operations for FX products (Spot, Forward, Swaps) and OTC derivatives (IRS, CCS).
- Money Market & Repo: Process money market placements, deposits, and repo transactions.
- Securities & Capital Markets: Support securities settlement, debt issuance (e.g. CDs, MTNs), and corporate action events.
- Operational Excellence: Monitor workflows, support UAT and process improvements, and maintain operational documentation.
To be successful in the role of the Operations Assistant/Officer, the following key skills are essential:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with 2 years of banking operations experience.
- Solid knowledge of banking products and end-to-end operational workflows.
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Effective team player with clear and professional communication skills. Fluent in English and Chinese Mandarin both in verbal and writing;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; knowledge of T24/Murex or SQL is an advantage.
This will be a full-time position and the successful candidate will receive a mark-to-market salary package depending on experience.
