Head of Commercial Finance

Cedar are recruiting a Head of Commercial Finance for one of the UK's fastest growing privately owned hotel & hospitality groups who currently have operations in over 60 locations across the UK. They are actively seeking further growth and this newly created position will ensure they achieve their strategic objectives of increasing profitability whilst delivering better, more accurate decision making.

Reporting to the Group Commercial Finance Director, the Head of Commercial Finance will manage 6 direct reports and have full oversight of the management accounts and business partnering activities across the group. Specific duties include:

  • Lead and manage the finance team to deliver accurate and timely financial information.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance top and bottom-line performance of each division.
  • Design, review, improve and deliver financial operations processes that are fit for purpose.
  • Maintain a close eye on the key commercial drivers of EBITDA; ensure threats and opportunities are identified and appropriate actions are swiftly taken.
  • Ensure that financial systems & processes developed and remain robust to support the smooth running of hospitality operations.
  • Act as a true business partner to various (non) financial stakeholders to enable them to run their business units in the most profitable way.
  • Support the improvement of management reporting, business performance reviews and assist with integrating new acquisitions.

The ideal candidate for the position of Head of Commercial Finance will:

  • Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA).
  • Possess at least five years' experience in managing, developing and leading teams.
  • Have worked in the hotel or wider hospitality sector for at least two years.
  • Enjoy working with finance & non-finance people alike and communicating with them on their level.
  • Understand that good, value-add analysis can only be provided when strong, robust controls and processes are in place.
  • Be able to work at pace effectively and be ambitious enough to seek further career development.

Salary: £85000 - £90000 + 10% bonus + benefits.
