Head of Policy Electric Transport Systems

Posted by Murray McIntosh Recruitment Consultancy.

BEAMA is UK's leading trade association for energy infrastructure and systems, representing manufacturers of electrical products essential to the UK energy sector. Join as the Head of Electric Transport Systems to lead over 40 member companies through the UK's electric vehicle revolution, helping shape the future of transportation by advancing policy, regulation, and safety standards.

The supply chain for transport in the UK is experiencing a once in a lifetime transition from fossil fuel-based vehicles to electric vehicles across the domestic, commercial, private and public sectors.

You will be the driving force behind advocacy initiatives, building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the government and industry. Your work will position members at the forefront of the transition to electric transport, supporting the UK's ambitious Net Zero targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead member policy and advocacy activities for the Electric Transport Infrastructure sector
  • Build strong relationships with members, the wider supply chain, and external stakeholders
  • Oversee the development and promotion of industry materials and communications
  • Represent BEAMA at industry events and in public speaking engagements
  • Work with the market analytics team to drive an evidence-based approach to policy work

We're looking for someone with the ability to understand complex policy, technical and regulatory concepts surrounding Electric Vehicle Infrastructure, and use strong communication skills to explain them to a non-technical audience. You'll need an understanding of the electric transport sector and the broader UK Energy policy and Net Zero delivery in the UK. If you're commercially astute, skilled in project management, and passionate about the transition to Net Zero, this role is for you.

Perks: Hybrid working (minimum 3 days a month in the Office), opportunities for UK and European travel, and the chance to make a real impact in a critical industry.
