The Role:
- Teach General Science: Deliver engaging and informative lessons across Key Stage 3, covering a broad range of scientific topics.
- Specialize in Biology: Teach focused and in-depth Biology lessons at Key Stage 4, preparing students for their GCSE exams.
- Inspire Curiosity: Use innovative teaching methods to spark curiosity and a love for science in your students.
- Assess Progress: Monitor and support student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them achieve their academic goals.
- Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with the Science department and other staff to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality science lessons in line with the curriculum.
- Assess and track student progress, maintaining accurate records.
- Provide additional support and intervention for students who need it.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in science education.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in a science-related field.
- Proven experience teaching general science at KS3 and Biology at KS4.
- Strong knowledge of the science curriculum and effective teaching practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
