A leading independent marketing services business that provides sophisticated marketing collateral and print fulfilment services to organisations and leading brands across the UK is looking for a Proofreader to join their team in Huntington on a full-time basis.

About the Role

They are seeking proofreaders with an excellent eye for detail and exceptional spelling and grammar skills to join their fast-paced graphic design department. The successful candidate will join their dynamic team of proofreaders and must be able to work to tight deadlines and have the confidence to work both individually and as part of a team.

This is an entry level position, so prior proofreading experience is not necessary as full training will be given; however, an excellent command of the English language is essential. Hours of work are Monday to Friday on a rota of 9 am to 4:30 pm or 9 am to 5 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly checking PDF drafts against client-supplied content
  • Correcting grammar, spelling and formatting, and fact-checking whilst adhering to their own house style
  • Monitoring multiple email accounts as part of a team and answering enquiries from colleagues

Required Skills:

  • An excellent command of the English language
  • Exceptional spelling and grammar skills
  • Good IT skills - applicants must be confident in using Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • The ability to work to deadlines
  • A conscientious and thorough approach to work
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A team player attitude - applicants must be able to engage well with colleagues
  • A minimum of a B grade in GCSE English
