Credit Manager

We are delighted to be supporting a business in the heart of Watford in their search for a Credit Manager.

The Credit Manager is a senior role within the finance team which reports directly to the Finance Director. You will be responsible for ensuring the debtor ledger is clean, reducing the time from order to cash.

The Credit Manager is responsible for overseeing the credit granting process for a company. The job is to optimise company sales and reduce bad debt losses by maintaining the credit policy.

Main duties include:

  • Support the team managing a monthly debtor of C.£10million
  • Managing a team of 8 credit controllers
  • Produce monthly aged debtor report with commentary
  • Maximise cash collection reducing the DSO
  • Work with other senior finance managers to identify process improvements
  • Negotiate with clients to ensure any extended credit terms are appropriately managed
  • Working with credit insurance agencies to supply any requested information
  • Calculate the bad debt provision an recommend any write offs
  • Ensure the team is handling customer queries in a timely manner
  • Carry out team appraisals

For this position we are looking for someone with strong credit management experience. Ideally you will be qualified CICM.

Key attributes will be focused around communicative skills, problem solving skills and a hands on management approach.

The role will offer the chance for someone to take the team under their guidance and make a real difference to the companies Debt Management.

This position will require someone to be office based with close proximity to Watford Junction station.
