Design Engineer

Elevation recruitment's Design & Projects division are current working with a innovative manufacturer of unique engineering solutions and products in South Yorkshire. This role will be responsible for working with global, market leading clients to develop complex engineering solutions whilst collaborating internally with various technical and project departments.

This role provides genuine exposure to some outstanding projects across the region, solving challenging problems, preparing designs/calculations and working with some excellent fellow design engineers.

Design Engineer duties & responsibilities

  • Design and develop innovative engineering solutions and products in collaboration with customers.
  • Support Project Engineers in delivering complex engineering programs.
  • Manage the entire solution delivery process, including specification, design, testing, installation, and commissioning.
  • Produce detailed design models, drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Assess time and material requirements for customer quotations.
  • Provide engineering support to the Sales Team for quote creation.
  • Ensure effective management of intellectual property and commercial issues related to product development.
  • Maintain adherence to business processes and the Engineering Quality System.
  • Plan and execute projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
  • Regularly update stakeholders on project status and address any challenges.

Design Engineer Key Requirements:

  • Relevant engineering degree or equivalent mechanical design experience.
  • Proficient in CAD systems (preferably NX) with practical manufacturing experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a high degree of initiative.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective engagement with customers and team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a high-performance team.
