SEN Teaching Assistant – Make a Difference Every Day

  • Location: BN7, Lewes, East Sussex
  • Salary: £23,602 - £24,127
  • Job Type: Full-Time
  • Start Date: September

Do you believe every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential? If so, we'd love to welcome you to our school family.

We're looking for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant who brings warmth, patience, and a genuine passion for helping children thrive. This is more than a job—it's a chance to be a steady, encouraging presence in a child's life and to help them grow in confidence, independence, and joy.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language challenges, and social-emotional needs.
  • Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to deliver personalised, meaningful learning experiences.
  • Creating a calm, nurturing environment where every child feels safe, understood, and empowered to succeed.
  • Helping pupils build trust, resilience, and a love for learning—at their own pace, in their own way.
  • Providing thoughtful feedback to teachers and contributing to a collaborative, caring team.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN—or a strong desire to learn and grow in this area.
  • A calm, empathetic, and resilient nature, with a deep respect for each child's unique journey.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE) is a plus—but what matters most is your heart, your commitment, and your willingness to make a difference.

What You'll Gain:

  • A welcoming, inclusive school community where your contributions are truly valued.
  • Ongoing training and professional development to support your growth.
  • A role that's both challenging and deeply rewarding—where every day brings new opportunities to support, uplift, and inspire.
  • A team that celebrates progress, no matter how small, and believes in the power of kindness and connection.

How to Apply:

If you're ready to bring your energy, empathy, and enthusiasm to a role that truly matters, we'd love to hear from you. Please send your CV and a short cover letter explaining why you're the right fit for this Primary Teaching Assistant role.

We look forward to welcoming a new member to our team and working together to help every child thrive.
