We are seeking a dedicated HR Advisor with experience dealing with complex ER cases to support key organisational projects. This is a demanding role that requires building effective working relationships with managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be the first point of contact for line managers in employee relations matters, providing comprehensive and pragmatic HR advice on a variety of issues including discipline, grievance, performance management, absence management and other general HR related queries.
- Support time critical HR projects, such as TUPE activity and organisational restructures.
- Generate regular HR reports and help maintain and improve the HR database.
- Provide administrative support for the HR Business Partners and Head of HR.
- Support the HR team in creating and updating policies and HR processes.
- Work in line with the HR team to build positive industrial relations which may include attending company or garage level trade union meetings.
- Support the Head of HR with learning and development activities.
- Undertake any other reasonable projects and tasks as required.
Education:
- Level 3 Part or fully CIPD qualified preferred or equivalent work experience coupled with evidence of continuous professional development.
- Solid PC Skills including knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word & Excel.
- Knowledge of HR information systems and reporting.
Competencies and Experience Required:
- Sound knowledge and experience of advising on people issues including managing performance, absence management, disciplinary, dismissals and grievances.
- Background in a HR advisor post or as an Assistant now ready for the next career move.
- Solid understanding of up-to-date employment law and ACAS guidelines.
- Excellent writing skills, able to carefully construct emails, reports and outcomes of disciplinary or grievance hearings into concise, readable documents with an appropriate tone, grammar and spelling.
- Experience liaising with Trade Unions

- Willingness to undertake Level 5 CIPD qualification.
