Job Title: Interim Responsive Repairs Surveyor
Location: Somerset
Duration: 3-6 months ongoing
Salary/Rate: Circa £28 per hour
Our client, a local authority in Somerset, is seeking an experienced Interim Responsive Repairs Surveyor. The successful candidate will ensure that responsive repairs, including relets, are carried out satisfactorily from start to completion. This involves monitoring the work of trade teams and contractors to ensure high-quality work, achieving "right-first-time" outcomes, and delivering a cost-effective, value-for-money service.
Key Job Outcomes/Accountabilities
- Carry out pre- and post-repair, exchange, and relet inspections as directed by the Council's scheduling system.
- Diagnose, assess, and specify required work in consultation with customers.
- Manage the delivery and quality of work carried out by internal Trade Teams and external contractors.
- Ensure work is completed to quality, financial, and time targets, championing an excellent customer experience with Housing Delivery Responsive Repairs.
Requirements
- HNC or equivalent qualification in a construction field with relevant practical experience to demonstrate competence in the field.
- OR equivalent knowledge and skill demonstrated from significant and relevant experience in a building, surveying, or similar construction-related environment.
- Supervision of contractors/sub-contractors working within agreed timescales, with the ability to prevent exploitation or manipulation of a contract.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety issues and requirements related to the construction industry.
