We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer with a strong background in composite materials and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in developing engineering solutions that align with the company's commercial strategy and constraints. Utilizing tools such as CAD, FEA, and hand calculations, the Senior Project Engineer will contribute to the success of multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct feasibility studies and process development, including manufacturing trials.
  • Apply knowledge of composite manufacturing processes and characterize materials.
  • Implement automation and digitalization within the composites domain.
  • Develop quality plans, inspection and test plans, and supervise process qualification.
  • Generate production documentation and reports, assisting with troubleshooting production issues.
  • Coordinate with third-party test houses to meet project objectives.
  • Engage in project management tasks and develop commercial offers.
  • Utilize project management tools and analyze quality issues using Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Participate in technology development for targeted opportunities and manage project liaison, including progress reporting.
  • Handle supplier management and identify intellectual property for security.
  • Maintain personal attention to health, safety, and environmental aspects.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical/Materials Engineering or a related field.
  • Substantial engineering experience with composite materials.
  • Ability to synthesize technical solutions and strategies with a proven track record.
  • Competence in addressing engineering problems involving various technical and non-technical factors.
  • Demonstrable ability to conceptualize alternative engineering approaches.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects under critical timelines.
  • (Desirable) PhD in a specialist area.
  • (Desirable) Chartered Engineer status with a professional institute (IMechE, IOM3).
